Were costs reduced as planned?

Of the three courses initially planned for redesign, two of them merged before the redesign began. Thus, the redesign encompassed two rather than three courses with the same number of students involved. The basic strategy described at the inception of this project was carried out almost exactly as planned.

In the original analysis of the instructional costs of delivery of the courses, the cost of computer replacement and maintenance and some administrative staffing costs (secretarial) were not included. Since the Polya Math Learning Center is open to all students and is used by many students not in the redesigned courses, however, that seems appropriate.
